# Electricity and Energy minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa has confirmed plans to prioritise battery storage and gas-to-power under the first Section 34 determination of the Integrated Resource Plan 2025. The determination will allocate four-thousand-600 megawatts to battery energy storage systems and five-thousand megawatts to gas-to-power. He said the combined are intended to address immediate needs for storage, flexibility and reliable supply. No new wind-solar capacity is included in this first determination:
