PwC retreats from nine African countries amid strategic review

# PricewaterhouseCoopers has confirmed it has closed operations in nine Sub-Saharan African countries including Ivory Coast, Gabon and Cameroon, following a strategic review. The firm cited mounting differences with local partners, which reportedly lost business due to pressure from PwC’s global executives. PwC’s withdrawal from these markets follows regulatory challenges globally, including fines in China and the UK, amid broader difficulties in maintaining profitable operations.
