Public Servants Association criticises government’s legal tactics in costly unfair dismissal cases

# The Public Servants Association has condemned the Mpumalanga government’s misuse of 39.5-million-rand in public funds over unlawful employee dismissals. The Department of Agriculture spent millions on failed legal battles, ignoring Labour Court rulings and undermining service delivery. The PSA’s Phumzile Zulu says it demands an independent probe into all unfair dismissal litigation, full reinstatement of affected workers, and accountability from officials and legal teams. Zulu says this pattern of abuse erodes public trust and highlights systemic governance failures in the province.
