Protesters in Madagascar say they will not attend public meeting with President Rajoelina

# The youth-led movement behind near-daily protests in Madagascar says “as long as the repression continues” it would not attend a meeting President Andry Rajoelina called for later today. Rajoelina has called for the public meeting at the presidential palace after earlier in the week appointing an army general as the new prime minister in a bid to quell anti-government unrest, which has claimed 22 lives. The protests were ignited by anger over persistent power and water shortages and grew into a broader anti-government movement.
