Procurement Institute warns rising energy costs pose new risks for businesses

# The Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply warns that while sustained load-shedding has eased, rising electricity tariffs and energy-related costs continue to threaten South African businesses. CIPS says higher power and fuel prices are increasing pressure on supply chains, creating pricing volatility and operational risks. Regional managing director Paul Vos says organisations are increasingly focusing on resilience through supplier diversification, renewable energy investments and stronger procurement strategies. He says this will manage evolving energy challenges and protect business continuity.
