# The South African Photovoltaic Industry Association has welcomed a new fast-tracked payment system for independent power producers affected by electricity curtailment. Under the new mechanism, the National Transmission Company South Africa will pay the full estimated value of compensation claims upfront before final verification. SAPVIA says the move will ease cash-flow pressures, particularly for black economic empowerment partners, while boosting investor confidence. The association says long-term solutions, including battery storage and grid upgrades, remain essential to support renewable energy growth.
