# Patriotic Alliance leader Gayton McKenzie has appointed former DA member of Parliament, Liam Jacobs to the Johannesburg council seat left vacant by Kenny Kunene. Jacobs recently posted on social media that he wants to be the mayor of Tshwane. Kunene resigned as mayoral committee member for Transport and was suspended as deputy president of the party after being found at the home of DJ Sumbody murder suspect, Katiso Molefe. McKenzie says a law firm will be appointed to investigate the incident. He insists the party must uphold transparency.
