# The National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa is meeting plastics sector employers for a third round of wage talks. In the two day talks, NUMSA is demanding a ten-percent wage increase, a one-year deal, and the scrapping of area-based pay differences. Employers have tabled a zero-percent increase and a four-year agreement. NUMSA national spokesperson Phakamile Hlubi-Majola has slammed the proposal, calling it unfair and out of touch with the rising cost of living:
