NSPCA demands inclusion in the North West Elephant task team [SOUND]

# National Council of SPCAs has criticised the North West authorities’ refusal to incorporate essential animal welfare considerations into the management of the escalating elephant crises. The North West Department of Economic Development, Environment, Conservation and Tourism, and the North West Parks and Tourism Board ignored a parliamentary directive to include the NSPCA in the Provincial Elephant task team. NSPCA’s Jacques Peacock says the welfare of over one-thousand-600 elephants, in an area deemed suitable for far fewer, is the central crisis that demands management:
