In this special election bulletin:
# Vote counting continues as the ANC leads nationally followed by the DA and MK Party
# The Election Commission is dealing with a few minor objections
# And the MK Party says it won’t go into coalition talks with the ANC and DA
# Preliminary results from the Electoral Commission a short while ago showed the ANC was leading with 42.31-percent. The DA followed with 24.61-percent while the MK Party moved into third place with 9.38-percent. The EFF is now fourth at 9.1-percent and the Patriotic Alliance at 3.46-percent nationally.
# The Electoral Commission says it is currently handling objections that could not be resolved by presiding officers at voting stations on election day on Wednesday. There are just over 22-percent of the national votes counted so far. IEC chairperson, Mosotho Moepya, says the objections they are dealing with are very insignificant in number:
# The MK Party has ruled out going into a coalition with the ANC and the DA. Former president Jacob Zuma’s party looks set to lead the KwaZulu-Natal legislature. MK has won support in the rural parts of KZN, while votes for the urban areas have not been counted yet. Zuma’s daughter, Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla says there is a possibility that the party could work with the EFF:
