In this bulletin:

# The DA welcomes a High Court ruling on Gayton McKenzie’s fundraising
# And cricket: The New York pitch is criticised after a slow-scoring encounter in the T20 World Cup
# Motorists will get major relief as fuel prices drop at midnight. Mineral Resources and Energy minister, Gwede Mantashe, announced the adjustments based on current local and international factors. Both grades of petrol will decrease by 124-cents-per-litre, while diesel will decrease by 118.54-cents-per-litre. Wholesale illuminating paraffin drops 80-cents-per-litre while illuminating paraffin drops by 107-cents-per-litre. The maximum LPGas retail price will see a decrease of 150-cents-per-kilogram. The monthly adjustments are due to factor in international prices and import costs for crude oil.
# The DA has welcomed the Western Cape High Court’s decision requiring Patriotic Alliance president, Gayton McKenzie, to account for funds he raised at a Sandton event while serving as mayor of the Central Karoo District Municipality. According to the party, McKenzie, who claimed the funds were intended for service delivery improvements, resigned shortly after, leaving residents without promised enhancements. The DA’s Tertuis Simmers insists McKenzie must urgently disclose the use of the funds:
# A newborn baby found dumped in London in freezing conditions earlier this year has two siblings who were also abandoned in previous years in similar circumstances. The girl, named Baby Elsa by hospital staff, was wrapped in a towel and left inside a shopping bag when she was found by a dog walker in January. DNA testing has since shown she has a brother and sister, known as Baby Harry and Baby Roman, who were discovered in the same area in 2017 and 2019, respectively. London’s Metropolitan Police is working to trace the identities of the parents.
# Cricket: New York made its debut as T20 World Cup host yesterday with an unusually slow-scoring encounter between South Africa and Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka was bowled out for just 77 and the Proteas eased to a six-wicket victory. Experts say a low-scoring game dominated by the bowlers is not necessarily the best way to launch a tournament which hopes to attract the US market. But Anrich Nortjé, who claimed four wickets for the Proteas, says slow-scoring games can also be exciting:
# The financial indicators: The dollar trades at 18-rand-64-cents and the euro at 20-rand-26-cents. One British pound costs 23-rand-80-cents and Bitcoin trades at 68-thousand-961-dollars-8-cents. Gold sells at two-thousand-329-dollars-26-cents a fine ounce and Brent crude oil is quoted at 77-dollars-5-cents a barrel.
# And finally: American singer-songwriter Cyndi Lauper has announced she will embark on a farewell tour from October to December, her first major tour in ten years. The Girls Just Wanna Have Fun tour will see her perform in 23 cities across North America and kicks off in Montreal, Canada, on the 18th of October.
