She also called for strengthened protection for all witnesses participating in the Commission and related investigations.
# The GOOD Party says the decision by the United States who is taking over the G20 chairmanship for 2026, to unilaterally cancel South Africa’s membership is procedurally flawed and disdainful of multilateralism. GOOD secretary-general, Brett Herron says South Africa is a founding member of the G20, not only on the basis that it is among the top 20 economies in the world, but to advance multilateralism and amplify Africa’s voice in global affairs:
# Cosatu is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a rally at Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto today. Cosatu spokesperson Zanele Sabela says the federation, launched at the height of apartheid on 1 December 1985, brought together 33 trade unions and federations under one banner with the rallying call of “One union, one industry, one country, one federation”. She says it quickly became a force for liberation as it mobilised millions through national stay-aways, strikes and community campaigns such as the rent boycotts of the 1980s:
