# The DA and the IFP will update their leaders on the ANC’s proposal for a government of national unity today. This follows ongoing negotiations as the deadline for forming a new government approaches after the ANC failed to secure a majority in the elections. The DA will report to its federal executive, while the IFP will hold a special national executive committee meeting to discuss the proposal.
Meanwhile, Cosatu says it will meet with the ANC this week to understand basic dynamics and the requirements that make up a national unity government. President Cyril Ramaphosa said last week that the ANC had decided on a national unity government as the best option to move the country forward after the general elections. Cosatu’s Matthew Parks says they are also hoping to understand the policy parameters within a government of national unity:
# City Power started implementing load-reduction in various areas of Johannesburg this morning to protect the grid. The measures include intensifying the implementation of ripple relay systems, cutting electricity to geysers, reducing load at high-consumption substations, and targeting illegal connections. Spokesperson Isaac Mangena says load reduction will occur during peak times in the morning, late afternoon, and evening, and smart meter load limiting will begin in July:
# Ajay and Anil Gupta have been denied bail in connection with allegedly abetting the suicide of businessman Satinder Singh Sawhney. They were arrested in Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand state, last month. Fifty-two-year-old Sawhney was a building developer working on housing projects with the Guptas. His body was found at the bottom of an apartment block. India’s director of prosecution Girish Pancholi says Sawhney had accused Ajay and Anil Gupta of having forced him to commit suicide after filing fake cases against him.

Bulls players will also not be considered because of their involvement in the United Rugby Championship play-offs.
