# We have the latest update from the IEC results centre
# The MK party says the IEC’s system failures raise suspicions of potential misconduct

# Preliminary results after 80-percent of voting districts have been processed show the ANC has 41.37-percent of national votes. The DA followed with 22.16-percent while the MK party was on 13.06-percent. The EFF and the IFP are among the top five nationally, with 9.41- and 3.49-percent respectively. The MK Party is leading in KZN with 44.44-percent followed by the ANC at 18.48-percent with the IFP third with 18.3-percent. In the Western Cape the DA is maintaining its majority with 53.15-percent followed by the ANC at 19.42-percent. In Gauteng the ANC is still in the lead with 33.67-percent and the DA at 28.13-percent.
# The MK party says it’s deeply concerned about a mysterious two-hour system crash at the Electoral Commission’s results operations centre in Midrand. They suspect potential misconduct and worry about the integrity of the electoral process. The party criticised the IEC for lacking robust backup systems and business continuity plans, calling for an urgent meeting with all political parties to address these concerns. Spokesperson Nhlamulo Ndhlela vows legal action to safeguard fairness and transparency in elections, deterring fraudulent activities.
# And, to end with: The Electoral Commission says it will review staff performance following the election. This comes after acknowledging the delays caused by the addition of a third ballot, which slowed the finalisation of results. The review aims to assess how effectively electoral staff managed the voting and counting processes, ensuring future improvements. Despite these challenges, Chief Electoral Officer Sy Mamabolo commended the dedication of both voters and staff:
