Nersa approves special Eskom tariff deal for Ferrochrome producers

# The National Energy Regulator of South Africa has approved an amended negotiated pricing agreement framework with Eskom for two ferrochrome producers. This includes interim concessionary tariffs. The power utility applied for a 62-cents-per-kilowatt-hour tariff for the smelters. Eskom CEO Dan Marokane says the agreement supports industrial capacity, jobs and economic activity while protecting standard customers and taxpayers from additional costs. The agreements will apply to Samancor Chrome for five years and the Glencore-Merafe Venture for three years.
