# The Energy Regulator has approved that ArcelorMittal South Africa’s applications to Eskom for six-year negotiated pricing agreements. The regulator’s spokesperson, Charles Hlebela says this is for its Newcastle and Vanderbijlpark steel manufacturing plants. He says in September and October 2024, AMSA submitted its applications to Eskom to consider negotiating reduced tariffs in terms of the provisions of the Framework for Negotiated Pricing Agreements:
