# Rescue operations have resumed in Nepal after a brief suspension, with authorities seeking specialist help as the death toll continues to rise. More than 600 people have died and almost three-thousand remain missing in Nepal and Tibet, including more than 500 foreign nationals. The threat of further flooding is complicating the search. A lake formed when a landslide blocked a river upstream has been overflowing, although the immediate risk of a major burst has eased. Authorities have also identified a second, larger lake and are monitoring it closely.
