Mozambique pursues Debt-for-Climate swaps at Global Development Conference

# Mozambique is negotiating debt-for-climate swaps to redirect debt payments toward climate action. Finance Minister Carla Loveira confirmed agreements with countries like Belgium and ongoing talks with others. The initiative, part of Mozambique’s broader climate finance strategy, will be discussed at the UN’s Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development in Seville, Spain. Mozambique will also present progress on financial inclusion, green financing, and energy transition. The conference aims to adopt the Seville Commitment in order to boost global development financing.
