Motorsport: Norris beats Leclerc to Monaco pole, Hamilton demoted

# Motorsport:  Lando Norris put McLaren on pole position for the Monaco Grand Prix with Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc next to him on the front row. Norris’s championship-leading teammate and rival Oscar Piastri qualified third. Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton was fourth fastest after crashing in final practice, but the seven-times world champion was then handed a three-place penalty for impeding Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, who will now start fourth. Overtaking in Monaco is difficult, and pole position is a huge advantage. The race has been won only ten times since 1950 by a driver starting lower than third.
