# Suspended Ekurhuleni Metro Police deputy chief Julius Mkhwanazi has been granted ten-thousand-rand bail in the blue-lights case by the Germiston Magistrate’s Court in Gauteng. The case is linked to allegations surrounding the unauthorised installation of blue lights on private vehicles belonging to businessman Vusimusi “Cat” Matlala. Mkhwanazi however remains in custody over the 2022 killing of businessman Emmanuel Mbense, being heard in the Brakpan Magistrate’s Court. The court is expected to deliver a bail judgment in this matter tomorrow.
