# The Motor Industry Staff Association is calling for municipal managers, mayors and councillors to be held personally liable for unpaid pension contributions owed by municipalities. According to the union, municipalities owe workers an estimated 1.7-billion-rand after failing to pay over money deducted from employees’ salaries into pension funds.
