# The national Police ministry has denied reports that minister Senzo Mchunu lodged a complaint with the Independent Police Directorate against KwaZulu-Natal Police commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi. The police watchdog is probing Mkhwanazi for allegedly interfering in the arrest of a senior Department of Correctional Services official, who is accused of running a drug cartel at the Westville Prison. The ministry’s spokesperson, Kamogelo Mogotsi, says the IPID’s investigation is a result of an anonymous complaint from the public:
