# Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Blade Nzimande, has congratulated the deputy minister of Water and Sanitation, David Mahlobo, on attaining a Master of Science Degree in Hydrology, Cum Laude. Minister Nzimande says Mahlobo’s degree is particularly important, as it aligns with South Africa’s critical skills needs. The department’s spokesperson, Veli Mbele, says the deputy minister’s achievement also supports government’s programme to professionalise the public service and build a capable and developmental state:
