# Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment, Dion George, has welcomed the successful intelligence-driven operation that resulted in the confiscation of abalone worth over three-million-rand in Cape Town. The operation by the Police Service’s Operation Lockdown and the Endangered Species K9 Unit uncovered a drying facility containing six-thousand-400 units of abalone. The department’s spokesperson, Thobile Zulu-Molobi, says two foreign nationals, a Chinese and a Malawian citizen, were arrested and charged with possession of abalone:
