# The Manufacturing Indaba kicking off in Johannesburg tomorrow, (14th July) seeks to back Africa’s industrial future helping drive the “Made in Africa” vision. Africa is well positioned to become a globally competitive manufacturing hub by expanding value-added production, reducing reliance on raw material exports. Industry experts say the African Continental Free Trade Area, technological innovation and investment in skills development are key to unlocking industrial growth. In addition, stronger collaboration between governments, businesses and investors is needed to overcome challenges including energy shortages, infrastructure constraints and limited access to finance.
