# EFF leader Julius Malema is expected to face a crimen injuria charge in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court after he falsely accused former Bergview College principal Jaco Pieterse of rape in the Cwe Cwe case. It was alleged that a seven-year-old girl, using the pseudonym Cwe Cwe, was sexually assaulted on school grounds while waiting for transport in Matatiele, in October 2024. AfriForum’s Barry Bateman says they are also pursuing charges against ANC secretary-general Fikile Mbalula and Eastern Cape Education MEC Fundile Gade. Pieterse calls for accountability.
