# Limpopo Police Commissioner Jan Scheepers says police must strengthen efforts to combat gender-based violence and femicide. Speaking during the promotion of 167 provincial police officers, Scheepers stressed to the SABC the need to protect women and children from violence. His comments come as government continues efforts to strengthen the national response to gender-based violence.
