KZN police cancel leave ahead of 30 June protests

# KwaZulu-Natal police leadership has cancelled leave for all officers ahead Tuesday’s nationwide protests against undocumented foreign nationals. Authorities say every officer under the Public Service Act will be deployed, including detectives, and undercover units now expected to assist in uniform operations. Police, community crime-fighting structures and government officials met in Durban to coordinate preparedness and respond to potential violence during the planned demonstrations. Acting provincial commissioner Phumelele Makoba says all hands are needed to maintain order.
