# KwaZulu-Natal Hawks head Lesetja Senona has resigned with immediate effect, amid ongoing scrutiny linked to testimony at the Madlanga commission of Inquiry into alleged corruption and interference within the criminal justice system. Senona had faced questions during the commission about his alleged links to controversial businessman Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala and other claims, and maintains his innocence. He had led the Hawks since 2020, and his departure leaves the province without a permanent provincial head.
