Judgement on former Zambian president’s final resting place to be delivered today

# The Gauteng High Court in Pretoria is set to deliver judgment on the final resting place of former Zambian president Edgar Lungu. The Zambian government has requested to repatriate Lungu’s body for a state funeral and burial at Embassy Park in Lusaka. The government argues although his benefits were suspended due to political involvement, that limitation no longer applies posthumously, clearing the path for a dignified state send-off. However, the Lungu family wants the former president to be buried in a private ceremony in South Africa.
