ITAC recommends 15% aluminum import duties to be retained

# The International Trade Administration Commission has recommended that the 15-percent ad valorem duties on aluminium rolled products remain in place. The commission says this is to protect local manufacturing and jobs. These products are key in industries like automotive, construction, and energy. The review found high costs and low-priced imports continue to challenge domestic producers. The commission also called for a review of the rebate system and downstream duties, to support struggling manufacturers and ensure fair competition with imported goods.
