# Israel is marking three years today since the Hamas-led attacks on the seventh of October 2023 killed about one-thousand-200 people, while 251 others were taken hostage. This was the single deadliest day for Jews since the Holocaust. The Palestinian militant group targeted several areas, including Israel’s military base, small villages near the border and a music festival in the Negev desert. In retaliation, Israel launched a military offensive in Gaza in which over 74-thousand-200 people have since been killed.
