# Iran’s Foreign Ministry has rejected the idea of a temporary ceasefire, saying this would allow the US and Israel to pause and prepare for the continuation of the war. Mediators from Egypt, Pakistan and Turkey reportedly proposed a 45-day ceasefire. This comes as US president Donald Trump has threatened potential strikes on Iranian infrastructure today, if the Strait of Hormuz is not reopened.
