# The Inkatha Freedom Party has marked the 30-day countdown to the 2026 Local Government Elections with campaign events in Durban and Volksrust, KwaZulu-Natal. IFP president Velenkosini Hlabisa also launched the party’s eThekwini manifesto. Deputy president Inkosi Mzamo Buthelezi and deputy national chairperson Thembeni kaMadlopha Mthethwa lead a rally in Mpumalanga. This comes as South Africans countdown to voting on November 4, with special voting starting November 2. The IFP manifesto focuses on stimulating local economies, basic services, working infrastructure, financial accountability and eradicating corruption.
