# The IFP is demanding a thorough and uncompromising investigation into the murder of its KwaZulu-Natal proportional representation councillor Khethelo Mdluli. He was shot at his home in Gingindlovu last week, and succumbed to his injuries in hospital on Monday. Mdluli has been the IFP’s PR councillor in the uMlalazi Municipality since 2021 and was due to be the party’s councillor candidate for Ward 17 in the upcoming local government elections. The IFP says political violence must never be allowed to become a weapon in the country’s democracy.
