# The Electoral Commission Western Cape has announced municipal ward by-elections for Ward 17 and Ward 27 in George Local Municipality on 21 January 2026, following councillor resignations. A Voter Registration Weekend will take place on 15 and 16 November 2025, allowing residents to register, check, or update their details. Eligible voters must present a green barcoded ID, Smartcard ID, or valid Temporary Identity Certificate to register.
