# The International Criminal Court has charged former Philippine president Rodrigo Duterte with three counts of crimes against humanity. The 80-year-old is accused of being an indirect co-perpetrator in the murders of over 76 people during his so-called “war on drugs” between 2013 and 2018. Duterte has been held in a detention facility in the Netherlands since March. ICC spokesperson Fadi El Abdallah has dismissed claims that the court is colluding with the country’s current president, Ferdinand Marcos’ administration, in Duterte’s case:
