Home Affairs upgrades digital verification system for faster, secure services

# The Department of Home Affairs has announced a major upgrade to its digital verification system, enhancing efficiency for both the public and the private sector. The system, which verifies identities using biometrics, previously had a failure rate of up to 50-percent. Minister Leon Schreiber says the upgrade drastically reduces response times. New fees for private sector use will take effect from April, while public sector users remain exempt. He emphasised that this a milestone in digital transformation.
