Hlabisa to launch revamped National Fire Brigade Board

# Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs minister Velenkosini Hlabisa will launch the newly reconstituted Fire Brigade Board today in uMhlathuze, KwaZulu-Natal. The move marks a major step in modernising South Africa’s fire services. The board will guide national fire policy, improve response times, and address challenges like climate change and urban growth. Formed under the 1987 Fire Brigade Services Act, the board now includes diverse voices and aligns with the Fire Services 2030 Roadmap and disaster risk reduction plans.
