# Basic Education minister, Siviwe Gwarube says government has commenced with payments of Education Assistants and General School Assistants employed under the Basic Education Employment Initiative. Gwarube was speaking during a joint press briefing by her department and the Department of Employment And Labour on the resolution of delayed BEEI payments in Pretoria today. The minister says this is a massive relief to thousands of young people who have been waiting for what is due to them:
