Government calls for early intervention and community action on International Overdose Awareness Day [SOUND]

# With today being International Overdose Awareness Day, the Department of Social Development says it is a reminder that overdose remains a serious challenge affecting individuals, families and communities. This year’s theme is “25 Years On. Still Needed”. The department’s spokesperson, Sandy Godlwana, says addressing substance-related harm requires sustained prevention, early intervention, access to appropriate services and the collective efforts of government and society. She says government intervention against substance abuse are particulary focused on young people:
