# The George Municipality in the Western Cape has officially launched a citywide rollout of waste skips aimed at combatting illegal dumping. Waste skips, also known as skip bins, are large, durable containers used for the temporary storage and collection of various types of waste. The municipality’s spokesperson, Ntobeko Mangqwengqwe, says 34 waste skips are currently being deployed across George, with plans to add more in the next financial year:
