Fort Hare R171m fraud case split into five legs to fast-track prosecution

# The National Prosecuting Authority has split the 171-million-rand Fort Hare fraud case into five legs to fast-track the trial. Each leg will be heard by a different magistrate at the East London Specialised Commercial Crimes Court. The accused face charges including fraud, theft, corruption, and money laundering. NPA spokesperson Luxolo Tyali says the case, involving university staff and service providers, is linked to violent acts, including murder, and will proceed separately.
