# Statistics South Africa says manufacturing production increased by 1.1-percent in July compared with the same month last year. Food and beverages, as well as petroleum and chemical products, were among the biggest contributors to the growth. Seasonally adjusted production also rose by 2.2-percent from June. Stats SA’s Nicolai Claassen says manufacturing sales increased by 3.9-percent in July after falling in the previous two months:
