Financial authority urges leaders to put integrity above profit [SOUND]

# The commissioner of the Financial Sector Conduct Authority, Unathi Kamlana, has urged leaders to prioritise ethics over profit. Speaking at Rhodes University’s 11th annual lecture for the Archbishop Thabo Makhoba Development Trust, Kamlana warned that chasing financial gain without integrity leads to systemic harm. Referring to scandals like Steinhoff, Kamlana stressed the cost of greed on society. He said South Africa’s crises demand vision, calling for leadership anchored in values to build lasting trust and sustainability:
