# The Freedom Front Plus in the Western Cape has welcomed the Hessequa local municipality’s decision to abandon its planned resettlement of small-scale farmers from Mossel Bay to the Still Bay area. Spokesperson Gert van Niekerk says with a decisive 16 to ten vote during a special council meeting, the Department of Rural Development and Land Reform’s plan to resettle farmers on the farms Schoongeleë and Soebattersvlakte was effectively stopped:
