# The Freedom Front Plus in Cape Town is warning that a rare wetland of 277 hectares that borders the Blaauwberg Nature Reserve is in jeopardy. This is due to a possible high-density housing development by the City of Cape Town. The FF Plus’, Pieter Jansen van Vuuren, says the area forms part of the Cape West Coast Biosphere Reserve and is home to critically endangered ecosystems, several wetlands, and irreplaceable biodiversity essential for South Africa’s national conservation targets:
