# The Freedom Front Plus says the City of Cape Town’s revised budget for the 2026/2027 financial year will put severe financial strain on residents, further impoverishing ordinary salary drawers and loyal ratepayers. The budget will be tabled during a council meeting next Monday. FF Plus’s Pieter Jansen van Vuuren says residents will once again be heavily burdened by property rates and fixed service charges. He says the fixed cost for the residential consumer tariff in Cape Town is currently 390-rand-87-cents per month:
