# FNB says that faster inclusive growth is needed to mitigate South Africa’s job crisis. This comes as the country reportedly shed 290-thousand-575 jobs in the first quarter of 2025. The latest labour survey revealed that unemployment rose to 32.9-percent, with youth joblessness hitting 62.4-percent. The absorption rate also fell, indicating fewer opportunities for the working-age population. The bank’s analyst Thanda Sithole says structural reforms must accelerate to drive labour-intensive growth:
