Eset Threat report shows South Africa a cybercrime hotspot

# South Africa accounts for 40-percent of Africa’s ransomware attacks and 35-percent of info stealer attacks. According to Eset’s latest Threat Report, cybercriminals target valuable data, including credentials and crypto wallets. Ransomware attackers often encrypt data and demand payment. The report highlights that South Africa also leads in password-guessing attacks and malware detections. Recently, the minister in the Presidency, Khumbudzo Ntshavheni, confirmed rising cyber threats affecting government and private sectors. The State Security Agency is working to mitigate this risks.
